Replacement Stanadyne water sensor for all 92-00 C/K p/u's, Suburbans, Yukons and HUMMER H1's with the 6.5TD. Install in minutes. As you know, water in diesel fuel is a common problem. That is why GM provides the Tee-Handle Fuel/Water drain valve near your thermostat housing. You should drain your filter of water/sediment monthly. Your fuel filter element (if genuine Stanadyne) is designed to separate the water from the fuel and allow it to settle to the bottom of the filter housing to be drained off easily. When water is not drained off properly, the water level rises in the housing and will trip this sensor to turn on the "water-in-fuel" light on your dash. If the water light does not come on during the starting cycle as a test, you may have a bad bulb, or a bad sensor. Don't guess if the sensor is bad, if in doubt replace it. Unless you like changing out injection pumps! Water in the injection pump will send it to an early grave. This sensor installs in minutes with basic hand tools.
