HD Starter Bolts, ALL 6.5s, ALL years, except H1 Hummers STD GM starter bolts have a Tensile strength of 120,000psi which makes them a medium strength bolt. Grade 8 High Strength bots are 150,000psi Tensile strength. OUR ssd-4955 HD bolts are 180,000 psi tensile strength and will never break under normal operation. They are of the correct METRIC thread size, length and have the required "KNURL" on the shank. This knurl is what aligns the gears. If you use a bolt without the knurl, gear teeth mis-alignment will occur and grinding and short starter and ring gear life will occur. Sold as a pair. Always replace your starter bolts when the starter is replaced. They are hardened stainless steel and come in a set of two with washers. I highly recommend using Never-Seize on the threads and torque to 45 ft/lbs |
